For me, flowers are a way to represent the stages of life for all living creatures. Seeds to buds
to blooms to decline and death. Yet, by accepting the flow of Iife we find that even as we
approach the end we can choose life. We can continue to grow. This photograph is a digital collage.
From a very young age I remember my father and cameras. Maybe it is from him that I acquired
my lifelong interest in the visual world, the detail, the colors. Photography is a way to see; to
pay attention to the aspects and elements of a scene; to hold memory as it fades. My father
built a darkroom with me in our home. I can see the two of us there developing images and a
relationship. I want my photography to reveal the creation of intimacy with the viewer.
