Maura Bendett is a Los Angeles based artist who received both her BA and MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. Maura has shown her work in numerous galleries and museums including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Torrance Art Museum, Pomona College Museum of Art, the San Jose Museum of Art and the Annakustera Gallery in New York. In an article titled Now is All That Matters written by Diana Juarez of El Paisano (Rio Hondo College Newspaper November ,2018); Maura Bendett explains that she can’t not create. She likes making pieces that just exist, a flow of consciousness. She says it’s all in the now. The past and the present don’t exist. Now is all that matters.
